Usability testing

If you really want to know whether people can use your site, software or product, there is no better method than watching them do so.

Usability testing is relatively straightforward; recruit a small number of representative users, and in one-on-one sessions, watch them attempt to complete the tasks that your product enables. Note when they have problems - and fix them.

Information & Design has been conducting usability tests for several years; we've tested software, mobile phone applications, websites, intranets and paper and online frms. We've tested mature applications, and paper-based mockups.

It's important that your testing plan is rigorously defined, so that you can maximise the benefits of this technique.
